City Walking Tours

Barcelona's secrets are revealed through a series of excellent walking tours, conducted both in Spanish and English, and led by the knowledgeable staff of Barcelona's Contemporary Culture Centre (CCCB). On Wednesdays and Saturdays, the dramatic architectural and social transformations of the old city are explored. On Thursdays and Sundays, ramblers can examine the wonders of Gaudï and Cerdà's master planning. Finally, on Tuesdays and Fridays, walkers can venture into the ultra-modern Olympic Village by the sea.

The Buses from Stari Grad

The big Jadrolinjia ferries now call at Stari Grad, not Hvar town. Buses which met the ferry to take people to Hvar town. Our bus was free but I don't know whether this is generally true or if it was good luck. Women were there to meet buses from Stari Grad to offer rooms. In Dubrovnik, the Adria Airways and Croatia Airlines airport buses now leave from the main bus station and not from in front of Atlas travel agency. The cost is still the same (20Kn per person) and it still picks up passengers 90 minutes prior to flight times.
